How to Audition for a Ten-Minute Play

34 actors needed!    

Please note: this is a non-paying, non-union event. 

 

STEP 1 (please read all 4 steps and audition times below) 

Decide which plays you'd like to audition for by reading the plays at read a play. 

Rehearsals will take place in April & May. The exact schedule will be determined by each director.  

You must be available for ALL of the dates listed below - we will be in the Alumnae Theatre: 

 

Blue Touch Plays  (Go to read a play - next to the playwright's name you will see whether it's a Red Touch or Blue Touch Play)                                       

Sun. May 30:   12 pm to 8 pm - dry run/lighting

Mon. May 31:   6 pm- 11 pm  - tech

Wed. June 2:   6 pm - 9 pm- dress

Thurs. June 3:  6:30 pm - 10:30 pm -  (8 pm performance)

Sat. June 5:     6:30 pm - 10:00 pm - (8 pm performance)

Wed. June 9:   8:30 pm - 11 pm  - dress

Fri. June 11:    6:30 pm - 10:30 pm  -  (8 pm performance)

Sat. June 12:   2:30 pm - 6 pm -  (4:30 pm performance)   & 

                     9:00 pm - 12:00 am - (10:30 pm performance)

Sun June  13: 12:00 pm  - 6 pm -  (2 pm final performance) + set  break down  


Red Touch Plays (Go to read a play - next to the playwright's name you will see whether it's a Red Touch or Blue Touch Play)

Sat June 5:     9:00 pm - 12:00 am - (10:30 pm performance)

Wed. June 9:  6:00 pm - 8:30 pm  - dress

Thur. June 10: 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm -  (8 pm  performance)  

Sat. June 12:  12:30 pm -  4 pm  - (2 pm performance)   &

                     6:30 pm - 10 pm - (8 pm performance) 

Sun June  13: 12:00 pm  - 6 pm -  (2 pm final performance) + set  break down  

 

STEP 2

Decide on the audition time(s) listed below.  

 

STEP 3

Email inspirato@ca.inter.net (in the subject line write: Audition)

In the email include:

     1.  Your name, phone number & email address.

     2.  The play(s) you want to audition for including dates, times & roles (up to 2 plays)

     3.  You may select other plays - include dates, times & roles.  We will allow you to audition for those plays if there is space.    

 

STEP 4

- Wait to receive an email which will confirm your times.

- Show up - the address is 1071 King St. W., at Sudbury St., (between Bathurst & Dufferin).  Walk downstairs to Room A.

- You will be asked to do a two page reading from the play (at the director's discretion) -- you do not need to memorize any lines.

- Head shots/resumes are not necessary but if you have one please bring it.

- Please arrive 15 minutes earlier then your scheduled time.
