We have posted the guidelines for our 6th InspiraTO Playwriting Contest . Write a ten-minute play. Listed below are the plays we produced at our last festival.

SYNOPSIS OF EACH PLAY

POKE by Angela Froese. Have you been poked yet? Why not? Start with the stranger next to you.   Directed by Miranda Laurence. Cast:  Bruce Williamson, Farah Farah.

A MAP OF SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW by Adam Cowart.  A movement-based play that delves into themes of fate, connection and loss.   Directed by Dan Daley. Cast:  Vanessa Quagliara, Jesse Watts.

BUNGALOW by Vern Thiessen.  A son remembers the past and is brought closer to his father. A memory play about growing up.   Directed by Dominik Loncar. Cast: Thomas Daly, Bryan Jones.

CLOSE ENOUGH by Matthew Haldeman.  Jack attempts to convince Jill that the cosmic pull and his interest in e. e. cummings has brought them together. Or was that A. A. Milne?  Close enough.   Directed by Andreja Kovac. Cast: Daniel Clark, Christina Lazarou.

THE BODY ELECTRIC by Dominik Loncar.  Stephanie celebrates her body.  Marco's ill at ease reaches a breaking point. Can his hero-worship of Canadian World War One aces save him?    Directed by Mirelle Blassnig. Cast: Tracey Beltrano, Jason Siks. 

PUSH by Adam Bradley.   One machine. Two scientists on a verge of a breakthrough. If only they can remember what button to push.     Directed by Tommy Taylor. Cast: Sedina Fiati, Michael McLeister. 

A SIMPLE SNOW by Elaine Romero.  When Alice lands in a snowy place with a stranger, she realizes that she is captive in an eerie world.    Directed by Megan Watson. Cast:  Kaitlyn Riordan, Thom Stoneman.

BAGS OF BONES by John Weagly. Daisey and Edith tackle the question of who, or what, is in control of their bodies.       Directed by Meg Gennings. Cast: Melanie Hrymak, Laura Alderson.

TWICE AS BRIGHT by Daniel Heath.  A woman decides to fall in love with the next attractive guy she meets. For ten-minutes.   Directed by Erin O'Hanley. Cast: Emily Stang, Jake Rathgeber.

STAY by Crystal Woods.  A man is asked to reach out and touch. If only his wife would let him.  Directed by Adrian Parks. Cast: Valarie McKee, Tino Wilson.

A TOUCH OF BEAUTY by Ann Snead.   Western romanticism and Eastern reality collide in this story about beauty and dying.   Directed by Brad Loghrin. Cast: Patricia Garnett-Smith, Omar Sheikh.

STUPID, AND TERRIBLE by Shannon Murdoch.  In a nondescript house, three women isolated by their grief, rediscover their relationship to a soldier killed in war.   Directed by Adam Bradley. Cast: Kim Persona, Stephanie Ros, Ese Atawo.

MISTER BAXTER by Kate Fenton.  On a subway platform a chance encounter between a troubled man and a young boy takes a strange turn.   Directed by Adam Seybold. Cast: Stephanie Seaton, Jeffrey Simlett, Justin Darmanin, Riley Gilchrist.

LEDGE by William Borden.  Mary could jump and end it all if Tom, who also wants to jump, would get out of her way.     Directed by Viktorija Kovac. Cast: Cary West, Ashlie White.

THIN AIR by Tom Coash.  Set high on the platform of a circus tightrope, a young woman is ready to perform after a set of tragic circumstances.   Directed by  A.J. Richardson. Cast: Lisa Rivers.

THE KISS by Mark Harvey Levine. Dennis wants to know if he's a good kisser.  So he has to kiss his friend Allison.  A lot.    Directed by Daniela Mazic. Cast: Blair Kay, Daniel Ostropolec.
